This rule uses the midpoint of each of the intervals as the point at which to evaluate the function for the Riemann sum. The integral is estimated by the midpoint rule with intervals as: Here . The error estimate goes as follows: On the interval , we have , so the graph of is concave up and the midpoint...Lets suppose that G is (x1,y1),H(x2,y2) and J(x3,y3) Now as given K(2,3) is the mid point of GH (X1+X2)/2 =2 ; (Y1+Y2)/2=3 X1+X2=4 ; Y1+Y2=6 =>1st equation Also L(4,1) is mid point of HJ X2+X3=8 ; Y2+Y3=2 =>2nd equation And M(6,2) is mid point ofThis video provides an example of how to approximate a definite integral using the Midpoint Rule.Write a function midpointint(f,a,b,n) to compute the midpoint rule using the numpy sum function. Make sure your range is from 1 to n inclusive. You could use a range and convert it to an array. for midpoint(np.sin,0,np.pi,10) the function should return 2.0082. Here is what I have so far.

Graphs of any sort (bar, pie, x/y, and so forth) are drawn to scale on the GRE. Geometric figure are NOT interested in scale. Therefore, so much of the time questions like those are really asking "have we given you enough information to clarify the NUMERIC VALUES.
Step by step:
Info 1: H=midpoint, so we now know that IH and HG are equal.
Info 2: J=midpoint, so we now know that IJ=JK. (Note: as of yet, nothing would indicate that these sides are equal).
Info 3: IG=GK=10, so we now know that the left side and the bottom side of the triangle are equal. (Note: this means that we know that the triangle is either an equilateral or isosceles and CANNOT be scalene).
Since there is no info 4, including no further angle measurements, we are left with IK being anywhere from some tiny fraction to a number just below 20 (a number between 0-20, non-inclusive). Since one of the triangle inequalities states that the sum of any 2 sides must be bigger than a third, we know that the max for the side is <(10+10)...or >20. Nothing correlates that side of the triangle to the others. If the prompt told us an angle or gave us general triangular structure information (equilateral vs iso) then we could possible come to a finite value for IK. Without it, we are stuck with a range that is either larger or smaller than 5, and thus, the answer is D.
Personally, I would suggest going thru step-by-step with these sort of issues, ESPECIALLY when the resolution seems love it must be super simple, as tricking you (like this downside) can paintings just in addition to doing a double pretend (making the problem simple...and it taking a look like there must be a trick but they if truth be told didn't trick you, thus you tricking yourself).
