The process of knowledge translation aspires to close the gap between theory and practice. Knowledge translation is a cyclic process involving both the creation and application of knowledge in several phases. The case presented in this paper is the translation of the Model of Practical Skill Performance into education and practice.Translating Research into Professional Practice Professional practice based on evidence improves healthcare practice, improves patient outcomes, and lowers healthcare costs. An environment which supports evidence-based practice is essential to your professional development.Furthermore, theorists (mathematicians, and engineers) usually have a better idea of how things work than the people actually developing the product or putting the theory into practice - the theorists just start out with an ideal example and narrow it down as much as possible from there.
